SHELTON, Conn. — A Shelton man was arrested last week and charged by the city’s police department after he allegedly killed a dog.

Forty-seven-year-old Michael Anziano was arrested by the Shelton Police Department on Thursday, Oct. 30, and charged with first-degree malicious killing of an animal, according to a report released by Det. Christopher Nugent on Tuesday.

Anziano was reportedly held on a $100,000 bond and taken to Derby Superior Court, where he was arraigned on Friday, Oct. 31.

Nugent notes in his release that the arrest stems from a report the police department received from Shelton Animal Control after a video surfaced in which Anziano is said to have admitted killing a dog.
