A high wind watch was issued by the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 1:03 p.m. valid from Wednesday 7 p.m. until Thursday 7 a.m. for Sussex, Warren, Morris, Hunterdon and Somerset counties.

The weather service says, “Northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 50 to 60 mph possible.”

“Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles,” adds the weather service. “Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates.”
