BELOIT, Wis. (WKOW) — The City of Beloit Police Department said Tuesday that a 19-year-old was taken into custody for a shooting incident over the summer.

The shooting occurred on June 23 near Iva Court and Scotties Drive at 10:23 p.m. A victim was shot at and later found hiding in the 2700 block of Prairie Avenue. Officers discovered evidence of shots fired, and one home was struck multiple times during the incident.

The department's Special Operations Unit continued the investigation, leading to the identification of Marvin Marshall as a possible suspect.

Police said Marshall confessed Thursday to the shooting incident and was taken into custody for first-degree reckless endangering safety.
