COLUMBUS, Ohio— With Election Day upon us, Ohioans who still have absentee ballots need to act soon if they want them to count.

The deadline to vote early by mail passed on Monday. But, voters who received an absentee ballot can still cast it by bringing it in person to their county’s board of elections office – either by going inside or putting it in a secure ballot drop box outside – before polls close at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Ohio voters who received an absentee ballot can still vote in person at their polling place, but they can only cast a provisional ballot.

Voters cannot turn in absentee ballots at their polling places -- only at their local board of elections office.
