NORTH CLARENDON, Vt. (WCAX) - An effort to modernize the Rutland-Southern Vermont Regional Airport is moving forward.
The Rutland Airport Committee says the plan will enhance safety, accessibility and sustainability at the airport in North Clarendon.
They’re eyeing terminal improvements, expanded hangar capacity and a potential runway rehabilitation.
It’s all aimed at attracting more commercial and private flights in and out of the region.
“Besides just the commercial air, we’d like to try and get some more private aviation. We’d like to start seeing, you know, more of the electrical planes... We’d like to be a leader of environmentally sustainable aviation, but also general aviation, flight schools, people just going out there and learning to fly,” said Bob Knudsen of the Rutland Ai
