LUBBOCK, Texas-- The Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crash Investigation Unit has provided an update on the Monday evening chase that resulted in a crash.
According to the Lubbock Police Department (LPD), an officer initiated a traffic stop on an SUV in the 3700 block of Slide Road around 9:45 p.m. During the stop, the driver, 44-year-old Jeremiah Grizzle, drove away, heading south on Slide Road. He then attempted to make a right onto 46th Street but crashed into a tree and a utility pole.
Grizzle suffered moderate injuries and was transported to University Medical Center for medical treatment.
Grizzle was then taken into custody without further incident. His charges are still pending.
