FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -- The Florence County Planning Commission approved plans for two new subdivisions, creating nearly 400 new lots.
One will be in the town of Quinby, and the other off East National Cemetery Road, just outside of Florence city limits.
As Florence continues to grow and with more businesses coming all the time, this means more families will need new homes.
The new subdivisions would be built on the outskirts of the city of Florence. One subdivision will be near the AESC battery plant in Quinby.
Back in June, the Japanese battery technology company paused building the Florence plant after investing more than $1 billion in its construction due to "policy and market uncertainty." Plant leaders said they would resume construction once circumstances stabilize.
