WREX — Volunteers from the Rockton, Roscoe, and South Beloit areas are hosting a food drive this weekend.
They are taking a different approach to collecting donations. People can leave non-perishable items outside their homes this Sunday and other neighbors will be driving around to pick them up.
The items will go to the Old Stone Church Food Pantry in Rockton.
"We wanted to organize a food drive that was as easy as possible to participate in so what we're asking people to do on Sunday, Sunday November 9th, this Sunday, is to put their food donation, their donation of non-perishable food just out at their curb," Elizabeth Lindquist, one of the event's organizers said.
This comes as the food pantry said it makes a world of difference.
