EUGENE Ore. (KPTV) - The Oregon Ducks were ranked 9th in the first College Football Playoff (CFP) rankings of the 2025 season, unveiled Tuesday on ESPN.
The Ducks were ranked 6th in the latest AP Top 25 poll .
Defending champion Ohio State was the top-ranked team, followed by Indiana, Texas A&M, Alabama, and Georgia, to round out the top five.
The CFP field will consist of the top-five ranked conference champions, along with seven at-large berths, for 12 teams total based off the final CFP rankings.
The top four teams, regardless of conference championship status, will earn a first round bye. This was altered from the inaugural expanded playoff format last season, in which the top-four ranked conference champions earned a bye.
