MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Bikes for Kids Wisconsin is launching a new program partnering with local food pantries to deliver food to the community by bike.
The local organization tested the program last week and is now ready to build up the initiative by getting electric cargo bikes that can pack up and deliver groceries to people who are homebound and don’t have access to food.
“People just can’t go without groceries,” said Bikes for Kids Wisconsin Executive Director Kristie GoForth. “And we have a lot of volunteers who want to pedal with a purpose. So it’s really an ideal program.”
