HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A special gathering was held at the River of Life Mission ’s headquarters in Chinatown on Tuesday to celebrate 40 years of service.
River of Life Mission distributes meals and support to much of Oahu’s poorest population.
Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi and the Governor’s Coordinator on Homelessness Jun Yang joined the nonprofit‘s staff, board of directors, and community volunteers in honoring ROLM’s 40 years of providing meals and ministry to Oahu’s homeless population and at-risk kupuna and keiki.
Blangiardi and Yang put on aprons and gloves, and packed meal containers and snack bags for community-based HUB events, which serve people across Oahu.
They also presented a signed proclamation, declaring Nov. 4, 2025, as “River of Life Mission Day.”
