MACON, Ga. — Voters across Central Georgia are heading to the polls today to decide on several Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) measures.

A SPLOST is a local one-cent sales tax used to fund specific capital projects such as school improvements, infrastructure upgrades and public facility renovations.

The outcome of today’s vote will determine whether counties like Houston, Bibb, Jones, and Crawford will continue or renew these tax programs for future projects.
