Australia's Commonwealth Bank has secured a dubious honour, winning its fourth "Shonky Award" from the consumer advocate group, Choice.
The bank was given the annual Shonky Award for allegedly profiting from Australia's most financially vulnerable customers.
The 20th annual awards, announced on November 5, highlighted CommBank's response to findings from the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).
Choice CEO Ashley de Silva said, "We're giving a special prize to Commonwealth Bank, which has received its fourth Shonky Award in 2025, making it the most awarded Australian company in Shonky's history".
Mr de Silva said the Commonwealth Bank "has taken bad bank behaviour to a whole new level".
