Residents in Port Mansfield will decide whether to incorporate their community into a city.
Residents will also vote on city council members in case the measure passes.
Ruben Garza and Holly Trojak are running for mayor.
Garza said he's against the incorporation.
“I believe right now there's too many unanswered questions and uncertainties of what's gonna happen if it does pass, I feel we should do a little bit more research,” Garza said.
Garza said he's running for mayor to protect the community if voters decide to incorporate.
“I feel challenges are ahead, I can hit them head on. I did two terms as a school board member, so I am familiar being in the political field, especially Willacy County,” Garza said.
If elected, Garza said he would work alongside the Willacy County Navigation
