Anchorage has opened a new Disaster Assistance Center to support Western Alaska residents displaced by the remnants of Typhoon Halong. The center will remain open until November 14 to provide resources and support for those impacted.
State, FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency, and Small Business Administration (SBA) teams are on site, helping residents register for state and federal aid.
“State and FEMA are working together to accept registrations for our individual assistance applications,” said John Andrews with the Alaska Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
