EMMAUS – Garnet Valley has historically played well in the second half of games all season, and the Jaguars did so again Tuesday afternoon in the first round of the PIAA Class 3A field hockey tournament at Emmaus. But by the time the second half rolled around, it was too late.
Emmaus (25-1), a 15-time state champion, was up by four at halftime and went on to a 5-0 win to advance to Saturday’s quarterfinals against Avon Grove. The season for Garnet Valley (16-8), the No. 5 seed from District 1, is over.
