(WGGB/WSHM) – Two longtime local city councilors were not re-elected Tuesday.
In Holyoke, City Councilor Kevin Jourdain has failed to regain his seat. With all of the precincts reporting, the six candidates elected for the at-large seat were Patricia Devine, Tessa Murphy-Romboletti, Israel Rivera, Mimi Panitch, Michael Sullivan, and Howard Greaney Jr.
Jourdain is in his fourteenth term as a city councilor. He was first elected in 1993 and served as an at-large councilor from 1994 to 2015. From 2016 to 2017, he represented Ward 6 and served as the council’s president from 2012 to 2017. He was re-elected back into the council in November 2021 after a four-year break.
