SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - While there was no mayoral race in Springfield, there were multiple city council seats up for grabs.

Eight candidates were vying for the five available seats as City Councilor At-Large. The winners included Jose Delgado, Justin Hurst, Tracye Whitfield, Kateri Walsh, and Brian Santaniello.

In addition, five Springfield wards are also up for grabs. In Ward 1, Maria Perez edged out a challenge from Joesiah Gonzalez, while incumbent Malo Brown also won Tuesday over Willie Naylor for the Ward 4 seat.

In Ward 5, incumbent Lavar Click-Bruce was challenged by Edward Nunez and, in Ward 6, Victor Davila faced off with Mary Johnson.

In Ward 7, longtime City Councilor Tim Allen lost his re-election bid Tuesday as Gerry Martin wins the Ward 7 vote.
