AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Three Aiken City Council seats were decided in Tuesday’s election.
Republican Peter Messina took the District 4 seat by beating Democrat Jacob Ellis 674 votes (66.4%) to 341 (33.6%).
In District 5, Democrat Braylen Waldo defeated Republican Kent Cubbage 362 (50.8%) to 350 (49.2%)
And the District 6 seat went to Republican Barbara Morgan, who defeated Democrat Lisa Smith 468 votes (65.6%) to 245 (34.4%).
All of the candidates were newcomers.
