MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) -- Incumbent Mayor Will Haynie has won a third term serving the Town of Mount Pleasant.

Mayor Haynie first ran for mayor in 2017 and was challenged by veteran Curt Thomas.

"My getting a third term is the people of Mount Pleasant said is that you share that vision, you want less growth, more conservation and more green space," said Haynie once the results were announced.

For town council, incumbents John Iacofano and Mike Tinkey will be returning to council, Tinkey winning 15.23% of the vote and Iacofano winning 13.18% of the vote.

Newcomers Alexandra Crosby and Kathryn Whitaker will be joining them, Crosby winning 11.35% of the vote and Whitaker with 14.44%
