Road being dug up to raise station height; 28-day repair and diversion plan in place
Bhopal: Another major construction flaw has surfaced in the Bhopal Metro Rail Project. The Kendriya Vidyalaya Station, located in front of the RBI on the project’s priority corridor, has been found to be below the prescribed height standard. This has raised safety and traffic concerns, as heavy vehicles and overloaded dumpers risk getting stuck under the structure.
To fix the issue, the road beneath the station is being excavated by nearly 0.5 meters (1.64 feet) to raise the clearance to 5.5 meters above the road surface. Currently, regular dumpers can pass, but overloaded dumpers and high-rise trolleys face restrictions. A similar error occurred earlier near the MP Nagar Metro Station at Pragati Square
