WASHINGTON, D.C. – Calloway County Deputy Judge-Executive Gina Winchester traveled to Washington, D.C. with several other Murray-Calloway County Chamber of Commerce members to discuss legislative priorities with Congressional leaders.
A news release from the county said Winchester went on the trip to express the interest, concerns and needs of Calloway County citizens. According to the release, she planned to discuss the following federal advocacy priorities:
Infrastructure and transportation
• Request direct federal specific investments for local road & bridge replacement/repairs — Calloway County manages 91 bridges (many over 50 years old) and more than 684 miles of county roads under federal standards (NBIS) but receives no direct federal funding.
