WATERLOO, Iowa — The mayoral race in Waterloo may proceed to a run-off election. To secure a victory, a candidate must receive more than 50 percent of the votes. As of late Tuesday night, the race meets the criteria for a run-off, which is scheduled for December 2. The results need to be officially confirmed.
Mayoral challenger and City Council member Dave Boesen has garnered more than 40 percent of the vote so far. "If I'm in the runoff, we're ready to start campaigning tomorrow," Boesen said.
