MENTOR, Ohio — Councilman Ray Kirchner has been re-elected to Mentor City Council, defeating fellow council member Scott Marn in Tuesday’s at-large race.
According to unofficial results from the Lake County Board of Elections, Kirchner received 7,940 votes (68.23%) to Marn’s 3,697 votes (31.77%), with all 35 precincts reporting.
Kirchner, who has served on council since 2001 and previously chaired the city’s planning commission, will continue serving a four-year term.
“First, I want to thank every Mentor resident who showed up today to vote,” Kirchner said in a statement. “There is no such thing as a small election. Every officeholder makes an impact on the community they serve, and I am always aware of the responsibility that comes with this position.”
