LINCOLN — President Donald Trump weighed in on two Nebraska congressional races with the 2026 midterms still a year away.

Trump — via separate posts on his Truth Social platform — endorsed Nebraska Republican U.S. Reps. Adrian Smith and Mike Flood.

In Smith’s case, the endorsement could help Smith, of Gering, further separate himself from 3rd Congressional District GOP primary challenger David Huebner, a former border patrol agent, in a district that includes most of central and western Nebraska and some of the eastern edges of the state. The winner of the GOP primary will likely face Democrat Becky Stille in the general election.
