Hope Haven tree planting to create green space

Volunteers are welcome to join in at 8 a.m. Saturday for a tree planting at 1130 Barataria Blvd. in Marrero with state Sen. Patrick Connick and other Jefferson Parish community partners.

About 50 trees, courtesy of Baton Rouge Green, will be planted on the Hope Haven Fitness Trail.

Participating organizations include Louisiana Community Forests, Keep the Westbank Beautiful, Keep Jefferson Parish Beautiful and Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry.
