INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Homeland Security is accepting applications for the Residential Safe Room Program from Nov. 1 through Nov. 30, 2025. The program offers rebates of up to 75 percent, with a maximum reimbursement of $5,000, to support the installation of a prefabricated safe room in a residence.
Safe rooms are designed to provide secure shelter during severe weather, including tornadoes and high-wind events. The program is available to Indiana homeowners and can be used for new construction or existing homes.
