GADSDEN, Ala. —
A drug bust in Gadsden gets a large amount of marijuana off the streets, valued at more than $100,000, according to the mayor.
Police got a tip about the strong odor of marijuana in the eastern section of the city.
On Sunday, the department’s Street Crimes and Narcotics Unit (SCAN Unit) checked it out with help from Glencoe police.
Investigators obtained a search warrant and discovered 95 pounds of marijuana.
Mayor Craig Ford said the officers are "not just enforcing the law — they’re protecting the quality of life in our city."
