A foreign prisoner “suspected of a knife offence” is on the run from a south London prison after being wrongly released.

The error at HMP Wandsworth happened on 29 October - just five days after the high-profile release of migrant sex offender Hadush Kebatu from HMP Chelmsford.

The fresh blunder in the justice system comes just two days after Justice Secretary David Lammy announced enhanced checks on prisoner releases.
