A weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 3:48 a.m. for elevated fire danger until 8 p.m. for Northern Clinton, Northern Centre, Southern Centre, Northern Lycoming, Southern Clinton and Southern Lycoming as well as Blair, Huntingdon, Mifflin, Juniata, Bedford, Fulton, Franklin, Sullivan, Union, Snyder, Montour, Northumberland, Columbia, Perry, Dauphin, Schuylkill, Lebanon, Cumberland, Adams, York and Lancaster counties.

"The combination of dry and windy conditions this afternoon into this evening will create an elevated risk of wildfire spread across the Central Ridge and Valley Region of Pennsylvania, along with the Middle and Lower Susquehanna Valley.
