COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — November 5th is severe weather preparedness day in Georgia and while severe weather is not in the forecast, now is the time to prepare. Use this day to know what to do in the event of severe weather, update your severe weather kit and any emergency supplies.

Severe weather season typically runs from March to May with the peak occurring in April but we can also see an uptick in severe storms November through December. This secondary season can pack a punch with damaging winds, flooding and tornadoes, just like spring severe storms.
