TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The Santa Rita Fire District says one person was hurt after jumping from a burning vehicle on Interstate 19 Tuesday night, November 4.
Santa Rita Fire says it happened in the southbound lanes at Sahuarita Road about 8:45 p.m.
Crews arrived to find the passenger vehicle filled with flames.
It took about six minutes to put the fire out.
Emergency crews say the person jumped from the vehicle while going about 40 miles per hour and suffered what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
The fire forced a brief closure of southbound Interstate 19.
