WHARTON COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Authorities say a firefighter was injured after a large fire broke out at an apartment complex in Wharton County overnight.
The Wharton Volunteer Fire Department said crews responded to the flames at about 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday along Junior College Boulevard. An ABC13 viewer sent a video showing the flames shooting from one of the buildings.
Chief Hector Hernandez with the fire department said one firefighter suffered minor injuries after some bricks fell on him.
The Wharton Police Department said it happened when part of a wall fell, but the firefighter was checked out by first responders and is OK.
Police added that no residents were injured in the fire.
