Halloween has come and gone, and now it is November and Michigan residents are preparing for holidays that include somber Veterans Day and family-oriented Thanksgiving.

November also observed Native American Heritage Month , several religious holidays, and the two federal holidays: Veterans Day, Nov. 11, and Thanksgiving, Nov. 27.

With less than two months left in the year, November is also a sign that 2025 is drawing to a close and winter is fast approaching. In fact, cities in northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula have accumulating snow in the forecast , starting as early as Friday, Nov. 7.
