Two Massachusetts men who were visiting Boston for Halloween parties last weekend are facing federal charges after they allegedly set off a firework in a Harvard Medical School building.
The building appeared abandoned to them, but the Goldenson Building at 220 Longwood Ave. houses a research laboratory that focuses on neurobiology, according to charging documents filed in the case.
The two young men, Logan David Patterson, 18, of Plymouth, and Dominick Frank Cardoza, 20, of Bourne, were released after making initial appearances in court on Tuesday and were charged with conspiracy to damage by fire or explosive, which carries a sentence of up to five years in federal prison upon conviction.
The blast on the research building’s fourth floor early Saturday morning caused no injuries
