CORONA, Queens (PIX11)-- After catapulting to victory in the New York City mayoral race, mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani will address New Yorkers in his first post-election announcement on Wednesday morning.
The democratic socialist will make his address in front of the Unisphere at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in the borough where he served as an assemblymember.
At 34-years-old, Mamdani is the youngest person to be elected mayor of New York City in over a century and the city’s first Muslim mayor.
Mamdani beat out former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa while campaigning on affordability, free buses, universal child care, and a rent freeze for stabilized units.
During his victory speech on Tuesday, Mamdani thanked the next generation of New Yorkers and promised to ring
