ATLANTA — Georgia's Public Service Commission will now have a new make up. Democrats Alicia Johnson and Peter Hubbard beat Republican incumbents Tim Echols and Fitz Johnson by more than 20 points.

The all-Republican five-member commission will now have two Democrats.

The Public Service Commission makes decisions that impact all of us, like how much we pay for electricity, landlines, and natural gas.

For the more than 2 million Georgians who rely on Georgia Power, they’ve seen their bills increase six times in recent years. The Associated Press reports this is due to higher natural gas costs and construction projects.
