Republican Tommy Tuberville raised more than $900,000 in October in his near runaway bid for Alabama governor.

The current U.S. senator ended the month with $6.2 million on hand.

Tuberville reported major contributions of $20,000 or more, including $100,000 from the League of Southeastern Credit Unions and $25,000 from William P. Ainsworth, an Auburn University board member and father of Lt. Gov. Will Ainsworth.

Tuberville spent nearly $430,000 last month, including $50,000 to policy firm The Advocacy Group in Alexandria, Va., $40,000 to Big Dog Strategies in Charleston, SC., and $36,000 to polling group Cygnal in Arlington, Va. His campaign has spent nearly $1.2 million to date.
