The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office says a chase on Halloween ended in the parking lot of an elementary school with the arrest of a Murphy man on felony charges.

Sheriff Dustin Smith says 23-year-old Kobe Tyler Carter refused to stop on Friday afternoon when a narcotics agent tried to pull him over for an expired registration, leading to the chase.

Sheriff Smith says Carter hit the patrol vehicle when the agent tried to end the chase with a rolling roadblock, sending both vehicles into the parking lot of Old Martins Creek Elementary School on Stalcup Road.

Carter was arrested and taken to the Cherokee County Detention Center where he was booked on the following charges:

Felony Flee to Elude

Felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon on a Law Enforcement Officer

Possession of Marijuana
