KCRA 3's weather team is issuing an Impact Day for Wednesday because of wet and windy conditions in Northern California . Below is a closer look at the strong winds that are expected across the region.

A Wind Advisory issued by the National Weather Service lasts through 4 p.m. Wednesday for areas in the coastal mountains, into the Delta and up into the Sacramento Valley, with a portion in the San Joaquin Valley, Meteorologist Dirk Verdoorn said.

As of 8 a.m., most of the wind gusts in the Valley have been up to 25 mph, Meteorologist Kelly Curran said. Isolated gusts of 40 mph are still possible by 9:30 a.m. Winds will ease in the Valley in the late afternoon.

There is also a High Wind Warning over the crest of the Sierra and the eastern slope that will be in place through 10 p.m. That
