UPPER PROVIDENCE — In Tuesday night’s opening round of the PIAA-3A Tournament, the present of the Pope John Paul II girls volleyball dynasty ceded ground to the inevitable future protectors of their hallowed legacy.
PJP’s dominance over the three seasons before this is already the stuff of legends: three straight Pioneer Athletic Conference, District 1-3A and PIAA-3A state titles, all without a single loss added to the ledger. They bulldozed their way through the rest of the state three times over until Spring-Ford finally ran them down in 2025. The Golden Panthers reluctantly abdicated the PAC crown to the Rams before claiming the program’s seventh consecutive district title last Thursday.
Now 20-0 against anybody not named Spring-Ford, PJP is three wins away from its fourth consecutive
