LAPEER COUNTY, Mich. (WNEM) - Michigan State Police are investigating a deputy-involved shooting that happened Wednesday morning.

MSP said the incident happened on the 2000 block of Sutton Road in Lapeer County. Residents are being asked to avoid the area while the investigation continues.

The Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office requested MSP’S assistance. The MSP Special Investigation Section, MSP Crime Lab- Bridgeport, and other resources have been deployed to the scene.
