A federal judge on Tuesday sentenced a Umatilla County man to more than three years in prison for stealing 20 guns from a firearms dealer and then selling or trading the guns to a drug trafficker.

U.S. District Judge Amy Baggio called the crime “particularly egregious.”

Brady Lee Faircloth, 40, snatched $13,504 worth of guns, ducking in and out of the Milton-Freewater Ranch & Home store within two minutes in the “wee hours of the night” after breaking into the shop.

He then traveled to Washington state, where he sold the guns for cash and methamphetamine, knowing the weapons would end up in the hands of gang members and convicted felons, the judge said.
