FRONT ROYAL — The Warren Heritage Society spends tens of thousands of dollars each year to maintain its three historic museums and the award-winning Laura Virginia Hale Archives.

Warren County’s oldest independent history organization also looks after unique heritage sites, including the county’s only 1700s working outdoor kitchen, a recreated late-1800s country store, a blacksmith shop, smokehouse, loom house, children’s swing house and heritage gardens.

Additionally, the nonprofit hosts a growing list of events and activities — all of which is funded privately, said Liz Rishel, executive director of the organization.
