LAKE ARTHUR, La. (KPLC) - Lake Arthur High School has forfeited its Week 10 football game due to injuries.

Lafayette Christian Academy was set to host the Tigers in its homecoming game Friday. LCA officials wrote on Facebook that they learned of Lake Arthur’s forfeit on Tuesday and were not able to keep the game as scheduled.

Jeff Davis Parish Superintendent of Schools John Hall said the team has too many hurt starters to play in Friday’s game.

“We want to maintain our kids’ safety,” Hall said.

The Tigers started the season 5-0 but lost their last four games. Hall said the team still plans to play in the playoffs should it earn a spot.
