ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – A Roswell man has been charged for a 2021 murder after additional forensic testing, Roswell Police said. Miguel Angel Ramirez-Gallegos, 22, is accused of shooting and killing David Gonzales, 18, on December 26, 2021.

On the evening of the shooting, officers responded to the Saddle Creek Apartments and found Gonzales lying in the parking lot. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead at the scene. Police say shortly after an 18-year-old female showed up to the hospital with a gunshot wound to her wrist. It was later determined she was Ramirez-Gallegos girlfriend and in the car with him when the shooting occurred.
