A homicide investigation that began almost four years ago garnered some additional forensic testing last month that helped produce a murder charge against a Roswell man accused of fatally shooting another local resident when both were teenagers.
In addition to first-degree murder, Miguel Angel Ramirez-Gallegos, 22, is also charged with tampering with evidence for disposing of the gun he is believed to have used to kill 18-year-old David Gonzales on Dec. 26, 2021, in the parking lot of the Saddle Creek Apartments in the 1900 block of South Sunset Avenue in southwest Roswell.
Roswell Police Department officers responded to the apartment complex, arriving about 6:15 p.m. and found Gonzales lying in the parking lot. Gonzales had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was deceased at the scene.
