Driver suffers minor injuries
A train collided with a vehicle early Tuesday morning at the intersection of Navajo and Oxford, leaving one man with minor injuries and causing significant traffic delays throughout the day.
Hagerman Police Chief Rachelle Bateman said the call came in at approximately 6:17 a.m. The vehicle’s sole occupant, a male driver, was transported by ambulance to a local hospital as a precaution. The train’s conductor and passengers were unharmed.
The collision blocked two intersections until about 4 p.m., when the train was cleared to keep moving. First responders reported no major challenges at the scene, though some agencies had to reroute a couple intersections to go around the train since they had arrived at the wrong side of the accident and could not get throug
