KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City leaders on Wednesday got an exclusive look at the nearly one-billion dollar Kansas City Current Riverfront Development Project.
The ambitious development project, which officially broke ground earlier this year, aims to revitalize the riverfront area with a new town square, promenade, more than 450 multi-family units, 48,000 square feet of retail space, up to 12 restaurant concepts and more than two acres of gathering space.
The project fundamentally creates a new district in the city, Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas said Wednesday. The mayor along with other city leaders, toured the site to assess the progress.
The riverfront project is being constructed in phases and is located between CPKC Stadium and the Origin Hotel, bordered by Berkley Riverfront Dr
