NATCHITOCHES, La. (KALB) - A Provencal man was arrested on felony drug charges following a vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 117 on Nov. 3, according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

At 5:57 a.m. that day, Provencal Police and NPSO responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 1700 block of La. Hwy 117. A vehicle had left the roadway and struck a tree. The vehicle’s only occupant was found passed out inside. The vehicle appeared to have sustained only minor to moderate damage.

The driver, identified as Corey K. Slaughter , 35, of Provencal, was woken up, and deputies say that while speaking with him, they saw a firearm and suspected narcotics in plain sight inside the vehicle.
